Red's on the Radio
-
April 19, 2010
I just got a call from Marty who does the world famous 3D Radioactive Show. I will try to get the link up on the guestbook soon tomorrow so you can listen to his show Wednesday night the 21st of April. This week's theme is "I hear dead people" and he asked me which of Red's songs would I like him to play. "Do you want instrumental or vocals?" I asked him. He said, "Ladie's pick!" "Well, Red's favorite song was Back Home. I remember the first time I heard him play it. We were on Summerland Key, housesitting at a friend's house and he played this beautiful melody. I told him, "I never heard you play that before." He replied, "That's because I just made it up." "What were you thinking about?" I asked him. His answer, "Our home in the mountains of Georgia. I was thinking of being back home."
Well, that's where he is now, Back Home.
It's been 2 years...
-
November 29, 2009
It's been 2 years since our dear friend, Fiddlin Red, started his adventure in his life after life. Some days it seems as though it were a long time ago, some days it seems as though it were just yesterday and other days it still doesn't seem real.
I have put together a CD I call "All Red-All Original" with 15 of his original tunes and it is only available by writing to me and ordering it. There has not been much of a demand for his music so I print them one at a time as they are ordered. If you would like one simply email me and I will send it out to you.
I have also completed the book I called, "9 Months Ago Was Yesterday" and you can read it on my website by clicking on this link
http://dianesdetox.com/book.html
I sincerely hope you are having a good holiday season and that you find peace in your lives. I hope you will help me keep his memory alive by writing in the guestbook on this web site.
Rock on Red !!!
Rock on Everyone!!!
2009 Summer Update
-
August 23, 2009
Hello Red fans,
Got an email from Dave Feder a few days ago and he is re-mastering Red's latest CD, All Red-All Original. Should have them ready by mid-November.
I am doing very well, spending my summer in Maine and traveling from Etna to teach my self-healing workshops...
I needed to create a calendar for my workshops and decided, since Red is not using his, I figured he wouldn't mind if I used it! Hope no one is offended.
Hope everyone is doing well. Rock on! Peace, Diane
Red's Birthday
-
July 17, 2009
Red's 53rd birthday would be Sunday, July 19th. I am planning on trying to surprise his sister and her family with a visit to their home on Long Island in the afternoon. I am on my way to Maine to visit with my family.
I hope you all have a great July 19th, and if you have a drink on Sunday-Please, raise your glass for Red.
His new CD, All Red-All Original is going to it's second mastering soon. I love the way his instrumental original songs flow into the lyrical songs and then back to finish with 2 of his favorite tunes; The Fiddle Medley that won him the Floria State fiddle championship for years, and Back Home, a song he wrote while we were house-sitting on Summerland Key. When I heard him play it I said, "Honey, I have never heard you play that song before.
To which he replied, "That's because I just wrote it."
"What were you thinking about?" I asked.
"I was thinking about our home on the mountain. I think I'll call this song Back Home."
Which brings me to the status of the Georgia mountain home. I tried renting it and that fiasco ended in eviction and the interior was destroyed. I can't afford the mortgage anymore and that is that. I realize it's time to let it go, it's just stuff. I listed it for sale and will fill out the paperwork for a deed in lieu. Unless someone wants to do a short sale on it. Red's memory lives in our hearts, not that home.
I am continuing my education and workshops in energy cultivation and teaching others how to heal themselves. I was doing it part time while traveling with that smiling fiddle player and now dedicate much of my time to healing the earth, one person at a time. If you are interested in my free self-help lessons, healing tools and more you can visit my website
www.DianesDetox.com . I even have a YouTube Video of my own out there. It's no where near as entertaning as Bruce and Red at the HOG but it's a 9 Minute exercise I teach in my workshops on energy.
So life is flowing in it's most beautiful manner and I allow myself to be as joyful as I can be. I am blessed because I believe Red is "still here" and the psychics tell me, "That smiling man with the fiddle wants you to understand he can help you more now than he could have when he was in this earth plane." That doesn't mean think of him often- a day doesn't go by that I don't miss his hugs and his live music, but I am so blessed to have his recorded music, and I want it to be heard. The psychics say Red tells them his music would do well in the movies. Who knows, maybe the publisher that wants to publish my book about the 9 months following his death will make a movie and use his songs! If I am going to dream big, I might as well go for it!
Peace and Smiles to All,
and
Happy Birthday Red!

Bruce and Red Blog
-
January 2, 2009
If you haven't checked it out, the Bruce and Red link takes you to the memories I preserved from the Bruce and Red website. I couldn't destroy the blog, so I copied all the entries, from October 5, 2005 through November 30, 2008, a year after Red started his life in eternity.
You can read the fun he had with his fans, the tips on playing, the jokes and the praises and then, of course, how we all grieved together when the world lost a great musician, a great entertainer and a hell of a great guy, Fiddlin Red Seidman.
Happy New Year
-
January 1, 2009
I pray all who reads this is having a happy new year.
I spent New Years Eve listening to Sister Hazel playing at Jannus Landing in St. Pete. I must say it was one of the best New Year's Eves I remember celebrating. Everyone was there to have a good time, including my 2 sons and 2 delightful girls we met at camping music festivals earlier this year. It was a PHENOMENAL New Years, to quote a friend.
I have been listening to Red's music in my computer the past few days. He still comforts me with his words. I am very blessed.
Also being blessed with Dave Feder's help in mastering the next CD I am producing of Red's music. I'm going to call it, All Red-All Originals. I'll be in Islamorada next week with the sailboat races, I'll have to stop in and see how it is coming.
Last time I was in Dave's studio Red was laying down some tracks for Micah Gardiner, what a great day that was-I'll have to dig out those photos of Dave playing with the glove...too funny.
Also, staying busy helping an acquaintance from high school establish a bed and breakfast in Brooksville, Florida. The house has had some interesting paranormal activity, if you are in the neighborhood stop by and introduce yourself to Pierre, the owner of
www.Hill-House.us .
The book about the end of Red's life, his first year on the other side and the interesting things that have happened is nearly finished, just looking for someone to help me edit it. The Universe will provide, of that I have no doubt.
My healing business is still going strong, still writing for the magazine, still renting out The Cypress House (great rates for January;),
and I will be visiting in the Keys for and then business in Panama.
Please enjoy Red's Music and be sure to write in the blog.
I wish you all Love and Peace throughout 2009. It's going to be a wonderful year.
Peacefully yours,
Diane

I have to tell you, the CD was a joy to work with, the lyrics brought many tears to my eyes as I listened to songs Red had written about me that I had never heard. He was probably saving them as a gift, he had done that in the past.
Once Dave Elliott and I got the song list down to the 9 original Red tunes and a few covers his fans always begged him to play (thank God he had recorded them:) I wanted to finish the CD off with a couple of songs that "meant something."
I decided I wanted to pick one of the songs from the "So Far" CD he did with Bruce, so I put it in the CD player and the first song was entitled "Hold On." No, that wasn't the feel I was going for, holding on too long isn't healthy for a widow or his fans. We'll always cherish the time we Red here, but holding on wasn't the message I wanted on the CD.
The next song on the "So Far" CD said it all, "I Don't Want to Cry." As I listened to the lyrics I knew that was the one I wanted. I called Bruce and he said he would love for me to put that song on Red's new CD.
Then I remembered the great song he recorded for Dave Feder a few years ago. Dave, a fellow musician in the Florida Keys and long time friend of mine, hired Red to play on a CD. When Red came to the song entitled "Vuno Mayai" he told Dave, "I don't know what to do with this song except play all over it."
"Then play all over it," Dave told him.
I remember that day as though it were yesterday. I'll have to dig out the photos and upload them to this website.
Red played the song so beautifully and so perfectly the first time through. Dave liked what Red had done so much he left all the fiddle parts in and backed out alot of the other instruments, leaving the fiddle as the lead.
Once the CD was released the song "Vuno Mayai" was the most downloaded song on the Internet for several months in the World Music Category, in the whole world ! We were so proud.
So, I left the CD in to listen to the whole CD, I have always loved it, and started to write an email to Dave, asking his permission to use the song on the CD.
As I pushed 'send,' a file came up on the left of my screen I hadn't seen in a long time. It was entitled Red Letters. They were the emails Red wrote to me the few weeks we were separated in October 2007, telling me how much he loved me and how we would work it out.
I hadn't been in the file since he passed, so I thought, well, I suppose I could read just one of them, so I opened up the letter and was reading (and sobbing) when the children's voices began singing on the CD in the player.
Now, I have listened to this CD (entitled Black Emerald) about 30 times, and I have always heard the children's voices but never understood what they were saying until the moment I sat there reading a love letter from my late husband.
Here is what the children sing (and it's on this new CD at the very end as a hidden track-I hope you like it.)
"Up above where you live,
I fly in the clouds,
A Spirit in heaven,
Oh yeah."
Now, dear friends, I know that was Red telling me he is doin' fine.
By the way, in case I haven't written this on this website yet, the last psychic told me Red wanted all the musicians here to know, "Playing music is great on the other side. It always sounds exactly the way you want it to!"
Remember, friends, life is a journey, enjoy the ride and for heaven's sake, TURN UP THE MUSIC !
Peace, Diane
Naked By The Bay

July 17, 2008
Well, our good friend Dave Elliott (owner of Tin Roof Shack Productions) just emailed me and we have a completely matered, perfect as it is going to get cd. Now all I have to do is finish with the artwork. This has been a real labor of love for both of us. Dave had met Red and traveled to see him and Bruce perform at the Hogs Breath in Destin. Also had watched them on the Internet while they were at the Hog's Breath there. Even called in once when there was a hurricane coming through, his request, 'TO GET BACK UP ON THE STAGE AND PLAY-WE HAVE BEEN WAITING TOO LONG"
We'll keep you informed of our progress. Peace, Diane

Working on Red's New CD
-
July 7, 2008
Hello, Red fans,
Diane here, letting you know work is coming along well on the new CD. It contains songs I found on the ZOOM recorded that Red wrote and recorded "just to pass time" while he was in this "earth plane".
Most of the songs on this CD are "Red originals", with the exception of the last 3. One of those is a masterpiece written by Dave Feder called "Vuno Mayai" (go ahead-google it:). This song was the number one downloaded song on World Music for months when it first came out. I remember when Dave asked Red to record on his "Black Emerald" CD and when Red came to what Dave had recorded for Vuno Maya, Red told Dave, "I don't know what to do with this except play all through it", so he did. Dave liked what Red did so much he backed off some of the other instruments to allow Red's fiddle to really shine.
The last full length tune on the CD will be "I Don't Want to Cry" by John Isaacson, Bruce's alleged brother. We have never met John (thus nthe alleged part:) but he sure writes some great tunes. I wanted put something Red had played with his buddy, Bruce, on this first "post-humus" CD and when I listened to the "So Far" CD today (available at CD Baby), I chose "I Don't Want to Cry" because the words told how I felt this afternoon. Funny how songs take on different meanings, not only to different people, but to the same people at different points in their lives.
I also am putting a sweet, 4 line song at the very end sung by children, called "Up Above". It came to me today while reading some of Red's old email love letters.
The words are;
"Up above where I live,
I fly into the air,
I flew into the clouds,
I was a spirit, I glide, heaven a-yeah".
I think hearing that today was Red's way of saying he's ok, flying around as a spirit-a-yeah...
Peace and Smiles, Diane
Long time, No write

June 16, 2008
Hello folks,
As you can see I took some time off the work of promoting my late husband's music. I tend to be obsessive compulsive and immersing myself in his music so soon after his passing was getting to be too much. Hey, at least I realized what I was doing:)
During the time off I have been working on the DianesDetox.com site and doing my best to heal the earth and things have been great.
Red's music with Bruce on BruceandRed.com is still very much available if you want to click on the Products page here-or go to that site. We have alot of the "So Far" CDs left so we may run a special on them when we release the "hidden recording-hopefully a 3 CD set of one of those great nights at the HOGS BREATH in Key West". I found that on my late husband's ZOOM recorder. I'll keep you posted on it's progress.
On Red's music- well, both his 2nd run CDs "Red's Acoustic Adventures" and "Great Big World" are in their second printing. Of course, I only print 12 at a time-hey, stop laughing ! I am happy to have ANYONE buy his music. He has to help me pay for that house in Georgia AND he wrote and played some really killer stuff. A local musician here in northern Florida from the Flying Turtles band said they felt it was "grammy award winning material". It doesn't have to win an award for me. Just knowing some of it was written about me (the GOOD-HAPPY stuff:) makes me feel as though I am immortalized in song.
As to the old cassette recordings- I am working my way through from the Hot Walker Days. I have listened to 14 out of the 35 tapes and have found Red singing lead on songs like "Nobody But Me"-Alabama, "Can't You See", "That Don't Make it with Me", "By Your Side", "Seminole Wind", "Boot Scoot", "Red Neck Girl", "Got Love-Super Love for You"-now there's a funky rock song, "You Piss Me Off", "Lost in the Ozone", "Hot Rod Lincoln", "Cadillac Ranch", "Why Get Up" and I am not finished yet. Then I have found 3 recordings of him doing "Devil Went Down to Georgia", 3 recordings of "South's Gonna Do it Again", and 4 recordings of "Pink Cadillac".
I was able to start working on his music again because I finally had several clear messages from him (with witnesses) that he is just fine, he is at peace and it sounds like he is having a hell of a time.
If you are interested in his sightings, you can email at reddisetgo@aol.com. I hesitate to put the stories here-I am afraid people would think I was crazy-besides, I am promoting his music here, not his whereabouts:)
As Red would say, "Live every day to it's fullest, cause someday it'll be your last". Well, his last one in the physical world was the best day of his life and all reports from beyond say it's getting better all the time.
Peace and Love to you all, Diane
MEMORY CARDS
-
April 18, 2008
I was going through some boxes and found the "MEMORY CARDS" from Red's memorial services in Key Largo and in Key West.
I thought I would quote a few of them here.
"He was a man of joy
and a friend to many
he didn't even know.
He made you feel as if
you were on an adventure each night.
He caused your toes to tap
and your feet to stomp.
Red was a rip rollin' roller coaster ride
and I am a better person for having bought a ticket.
Thank you Red,
I will miss you"
I couldn't have said it any better myself:) here's another comment,
"Red, You are the only soul who could play the colors in my mind. I'll miss you, Love and Respect, Micah"
Red played on Micah's last CD, I will have to put his website on my link page.
"One man-a huge difference-he will be sorely missed, but his music plays on in all our hearts. Deborah Moore"
AMEN, Deb !
Well, I have to get back to listening and organizing Red's music I am going to get on the cd baby site to sell so he can pay for the house I built him:) I don't think ANYONE realized how many songs he had written, sung and recorded. Probably not even him !
Hope everyone is well and happy, Peace, Diane
WELL...
-
April 12, 2008
Well, I have spent the day caulking windows (to keep the spiders out:) and burning CDs-one of Bruce and Red Live at the HOG in July of 2007. A copy of that will go to Bruce in Mondays mail. Red called it PRJ37 (short for project 37-sounds like lucky numbers to me:)
Listening to the recordings with Bruce and so many other "Red Recordings" while working on websites and emails has made the day fly by...
Some of the music I have been listening to is from the old Hot Walker Days and it is so different for me to hear Red play electric guitar and fiddle and sing leads on songs like Cotton Eyed Joe, Cadillac Ranch, Lost in the Ozone Again and Red-Necked Girl- why it is just plain old FUN.
It reminds me of the days when we lived at the mountain and he wasn't working in the Keys quite so much. We would go over to the River House (Gold City Corral in Dahlonega) and he would play his fiddle around the campfire with his old buddy Les Strader.
He got paid for his playing with dinner for two-and I would help cook and clean up afterwards. They would drink moonshine and beer, laugh and tell stories and play music "from the old days". Sometimes we would go to entertain a group, and sometimes we would just hitch up a team and go for us. Oh yes, Red would drive the wagons too. That's when I learned about "Gee" and "Haw".
Ahhh, those were fun days.
Well, now, I am listening to some other old days, before I met him, when he played in southern Florida and had his own recording studio.
My husband had so much talent it simply amazes me to hear how he sounded with a full band behind him, he was the star of the show.
Well, honey, I knew you were good but if I had known these recordings were this good-I would have made you release them sooner, while you were still alive ! You were an awesome country singer-and did some good old rock and roll stuff too...
I am also, STILL coming across original music he wrote that I never heard before and that "never made it" out there... probably because they didn't have the internet back in the 1980s.
They will be a while coming, but I look forward to offering it to all his fans.
and, of course, in the meantime you can purchase the CDs he made with Bruce at BruceandRed.com and listen to some of Red's original music on Fiddlin Red.com.
All is good on the Suwanne River. The music is playing, the sun is setting and the birds are roosting for the evening.
Peace and light, Diane
Well, Let's get started !
-
April 11, 2008
Here it is, the beginnings of my late husband's website.
While he was alive he was known as a "musical genius" and had a smile that "wouldn't quit", especially while he was on stage. I can't think of a better way to honor him and to sell his music than on the internet where I can reach millions just by putting it out there.
It's been really exciting, and somewhat bittersweet, listening to projects he did back in the 1980's as well as unfinished projects he left behind-things noone ever heard but him.
Soon, I will have his music on CDs, there will be an all-orignal-acoustic version, an all original with lyrics version, and some of the old country-blue-grass stuff he did with the Hot Walker Band, 5 Card Stud and many others.
This will be a long time in the making as I am also working at his mountain home-I have always called it HIS mountain home as I started building it for him in 1999. Of course, he realized it would be cheaper to marry me so we tied the knot May 8, 1999 and had the lumber delivered to start the A frame 17 days later, on my birthday. Happy Birthday Honey, build me a house.
So I did, and I have decided to keep it and hopefully develope it into an artists retreat/rehab/retirement home-so I need to publish his music and make some money, so he can help me pay for it ! We had lots of dreams, and even though it was more fun to accomplish things with him, he left me here to take care of it-and I love a challenge:)
That said, watch for pictures, stories and developing CDs and DVDs and be sure to say hi in our Guestbook. I call it OUR guestbook cause you can say hi to me and since there so many people in this world who loved my husband-I don't see anything wrong with them saying so on the Internet.
Hello to all our old friends and welcome to our new friends.
Peacefully yours, Diane
