As the Red and Les legend goes, Barbara Mandrell and George Jones were scheduled to record it. Unfortunately for them, and for Barbara, she had her nearly fatal auto accident on the way to the studio. I wonder how Red's life would have been different if the universe had allowed that song to be recorded...
