Fiddlin Red Seidman: Music

Great Big World

(Captain Fiddlin' Red)
Larry (Red) Seidman
Red wrote this about some old "friends" of his who always acted as though he were a friend...
but each time we would tell them about the things we were doing (sailing, fishing, traveling, etc.) these "friends" would say things like, "I hate you" or "you suck" .
They would try to act as though they were joking but it was always so obvious how jealous they were of the love, life and laughter Red and I shared. There's so much more to life than sitting around, drinking yourself to death in front of the TV. AMEN !
I'm tired of these angry words.
I'm tired of these games.
You're acting like children now.
Have you gone insane?

I'm tired of the jealousy.
I'm tired of it all.
I'm gonna take a ride,
and it ain't to no mall.

CHORUS
I don't wanta hear anymore,
It's a Great Big World.
I don't need to see you no more,
It's a Great Big World.
And there's so much to see in this Great Big World,
In this Great Big World.

You held it so deep inside,
never thought it would show.
We used to be real good friends,
But you would never know.

You used to be wild and free, Now you're in a cage.
Last time I saw you,
You were in a drunken rage.

CHORUS + echo Great Big World

I'm over the things you said,
No,
I don't want a drink.
Take all of the whiskey you got,
Pour it right down the kitchen sink.
You won't have to think about me anymore.
I don't need to do anything now,
That'll even the score.

CHORUS
